Q: Which out-of-state institutions are eligible for the transfer of prepaid benefits?
A: The "Approved
College" section of the site contains a comprehensive list of the institutions to which prepaid benefits may be transferred. The institutions may be searched alphabetically or by state. The site also includes links to most of these institutions' web sites.
Q: How does the Board determine institutional eligibility?
A: Section 1009.98(3)(b), Florida Statutes, specifies that eligible out-of-state colleges and universities must be regionally-accredited, not-for-profit
and confers degrees.
Q: My family has moved out-of-state. Are we still eligible to participate in the Program?
A: Once a prepaid contract is issued, the eligibility has already been established. Section 1009.98(a)1 and (b)1, Florida Statutes, further specifies that prepaid students who move out-of-state may return to a state university or public community college in Florida as in-state students for tuition purposes.
