Dormitory Plan

An optional University Dormitory Plan covers payment for a standard, double-occupancy, air-conditioned dormitory room at a Florida state university. The dormitory plan can be purchased in one-year increments up to a total of four years and is offered only for children in the eleventh grade or below. You may purchase a dormitory plan for a child enrolled in a 4-Year Florida University Plan or a 2 + 2 Florida Plan. If you have a 2 + 2 Florida Plan, you can only purchase the one-year dormitory plan or the two-year dormitory plan. You cannot purchase a dormitory plan for a child with a 4-Year Florida College Plan or a 2-Year Florida College Plan. Dormitory fees vary by college, therefore, plan prices are based on a weighted statewide average.

For beneficiaries (students) who have a Florida Prepaid College Plan contract which includes a Tuition Plan:

All state universities in Florida charge this fee. Beneficiaries whose contracts were in effect prior to July 1, 2007 and include the 4-Yr University Tuition Plan or the 2 + 2 Tuition Plan, are exempt from the tuition differential fee. The Tuition Differential Fee Plans do not include payment of Local Fees or other institutionally-imposed fees.

The Local Fee Plans cover the required activity and service, health and athletic fees charged by Florida's state universities and/or the required student activity and technology fees charged by Florida Colleges (formerly known as community colleges).
